Ready to export to untouched market in Asia

Data Security Company Ibas has entered into an extensive distribution agreement with the Singapore branch of a German company, Relectronic-Remech, the world's leading company in Disaster Recovery.

For Ibas, which is a world leader in Data Recovery and Data Erasure itself, this agreement will involve distribution of all services and products from the Singapore operations of Relectronic-Remech. Initially, the focus will be on Data Recovery, but Ibas also hopes to export Data Erasure services and products very soon. The agreement will come into effect immediately and represents a milestone in Ibas' history, as up until now, the company has focused solely on the European market.

Untouched export market
"Although Singapore is on a par with Norway technologically, there is currently no one who appears to be actively promoting Data Recovery services to industry and commerce in this metropolis. And there is only one company in the whole of Asia that we consider to be a competitor of Ibas. Last year Relectronic-Remech's Singapore division had a turnover of approx. 30 million NOK. We anticipate a strong growth in demand for our services in the region and we have great hopes for this agreement," says Arve Saghaug, Managing Director of Ibas AS.

"A big international boost"
With more than 600 specialist personnel in over 20 countries, Relectronic-Remech is an international company renowned for technical competence and service in Disaster Recovery. Ibas co-operates with Relectronic-Remech in some European countries and has had only positive experience of the company as a distributor. "We believe that this alliance will give Ibas a major international boost this year. Ibas engineers in Kongsvinger, Norway will continue to solve the cases we receive, as the agreement involves no plans for the time being to establish separate laboratories in Asia," Arve Saghaug says.

Link up with Ibas - increase sales efforts
Relectronic-Remech is extremely satisfied with the agreement entered into with Ibas. "We constantly receive inquiries from our customers regarding data recovery, in connection with our work. We believe that Ibas represents the best in this field and we ,therefore, have decided to dedicate sales personnel to meeting the demand for data recovery in this region. Experience and results will show us at what pace we must increase distribution in Asia", says Bruce Swales, Regional Director - Asia, for Relectronic-Remech. The company also has branches in Thailand and Hong Kong, and has a clear objective to establish itself in more locations in Asia in the near future.
