Official opening of Ibas UK
Additionally, Ibas UK has acquired the business of a company that repaired a variety of peripherals, particularly large form factor Winchester disk drives and through this acquisition operate a Seagate EOL programme servicing customers throughout the world.
The new facility, the sixth to join the Ibas family, is a 10,800 sq.ft unit which is located in Hook in the South of England, and was selected for its proximity to major airports, seaports and the motorway network, all essential elements for the despatch and receipt of units with the minimum of expense and difficulty for both the data recovery and peripheral repair activities.
Ibas UK was incorporated on the 28th October 1998 with the new facility complete and operational by 1st January 1999.
Ibas UK currently employ nine people in the recovery, sales, marketing and management roles.
Peripheral
Repair Division
The
Peripheral Repair Division of Ibas UK provides a modern, ISO 9002 repair
facility for the use of OEM, Corporate and Distribution companies throughout
Scandinavia and Europe, with the United States being serviced by our
distributor, Peripheral Parts Support Inc., based in Boston.
The division is highly skilled in the repair of older, larger form factor Winchester disk drives and from the UK facility operates the Seagate FSD End Of Life project utilising all of the original equipment and technology acquired from Seagate. This location additionally repairs the Seagate Sabre and the Maxtor XT4380 / 8760 products to original specifications.
Peripheral
Sales Division
Whilst offering the full range of peripherals used by I.T. departments
today, this division is particularly skilled in Winchester disk drive
products and has built a reputation for sourcing the older products that are
still in use today but that are becoming increasingly more difficult to
acquire.
This ability to source a wide variety of products, coupled with the capabilities of the Peripheral Repair Division to support these products both before and after shipment from the UK, ensures that our customers can buy with total confidence.
Products are sourced from the United States, Europe and the UK and are sold back into the same markets. Customers range from Corporate Organisations to VAR's to Brokers to End Users.
